Kaleidescope of Choreographers

This 2 hour concert presents the finest of local choreographers including Patricia Dickinson Wells, Jennifer Boren, Judy Czelusniak, Louie and Courtney Giannini, Dominic Guerra, Joe Moncada, Shuga Shane Montoya, and Thax von Reither as well as two national choreographers.  The styles include classical and contemporary ballet, modern, gospel, jazz-ballet, lyrical and bboy, bgirl hip hop and beyond!

Festival Ballet Albuquerque's premiere performance

This Gala Kick-Off fundraising event for New Mexico's newest regional dance company will  feature concert length works by guest choreographers:
  • Mel Tomlinson, formerly with New York City Ballet and Alvin Ailey
  • Matthew Diamond, Academy Award nominee and Director of TV's "So You Think You Can Dance"
  • Robbie Mackey, international Disney choreographer
and local choreographers Patricia Dickinson Wells, Judy Czelusniak, Dara Beckley, Angelie Melzer, Krista King-Doherty, Vladimir Stadnik,  with others to be announced. 

Other local companies participating in the Gala premiere include Trey Pickett's Disciples of Chaos, a local collective, Duke City Dance, Paul Paradise's Paulish Dance, and Sara de Luz Flamenco.

Soloists from companies across America who will perform in the showcase include Gabi Rojas (Cleo Parker Robinson), Julie Cobble (Roxey Ballet, NJ), and Thomas Panto (Atlanta Ballet).


Some works will be accompanied by live music.

Festival Ballet Albuquerque's premiere performance

Duke Dance Collective dedicates itself to creating original and experimental dance theatre that reflects the community. Based in Albuquerque and largely composed of alumni from UNM's Department of Theatre and Dance, these dynamic performers regularly present their innovative work in local productions, and were also featured artists in the 2008 Boulder International Fringe Festival.
